random-responseA check for random responding. If invalid, the candidate could not or did not read the test well enough to avoid responding randomly, and these results should not be used.

Special items in the survey determine if the applicant is correctly reading the survey and sufficiently attending to the survey items.  Inappropriate answers to these statements will result in a survey which is "invalid".  This may indicate that:

  1. The applicant has limited language or reading skills
  2. The applicant did not carefully read the survey, or
  3. The applicant may need visual accommodation.

We recommend that you attempt to determine the reason for this invalid result and, if necessary, re-survey the applicant providing them with assistance or accommodation.
